Around 1942 my grandparents and father moved to California. Obviously, while they were there they went to the beach. It may have been their first time in an ocean.
I found this photo one day several years ago when I was at my aunt’s home going through a suitcase of photos. From left to right is a woman I don’t know, my great grandmother Rury, my grandmother and her sister. There’s another photo with my grandfather in seaweed shorts. I would love to hear the story about how this. I don’t find it surprising, knowing my grandmother, and it is delightful to have a photo capturing a moment of lighthearted silliness and fun.

it has been several weeks since you told me about this site and the picture you found of grandma. because i am just now starting to figure out how facebook works, this is the first time to visit the site. You were right about grandma’s picture making you smile every time you see it. thank you for telling me about the picture and your web page. Did you have help developing the site or did you do it all on your own? I don’t usually have the patience’s to spend much time on the computer for much more than email but I was very impressed and appreciate all the work you have done It looks really good.

I used to ask Grandma to tell me stories and she’d get her photos out and tell me about them. I only wish that I would have written things down because I know she told me much more than I remember. If the kids and grandkids got together I imagine our collective memory would be fantastic.
Playing on the computer has been a hobby of mine for many years now. I tend to just play around until I figure things out. I like doing research of all kinds so it’s just what I do.
I’m glad you visited and hope you come back from time to time as I’m sure our shared family line will be a topic periodically.
