Sometimes it’s the everyday events in my ancestors’ lives that just never enter my mind. Today, as I was hunting for a particular clip for a friend in some old home movies, I found a clip that I found fascinating.
The footage was taken by either my Grandpa or my Dad circa 1958 at their house, which was located on the Singer Pipe & Supply pipe yard in Oklahoma City. It’s a short and very simple clip but it gives a glimpse of a a milkman delivering milk and it allows me to see my Dad’s home. A common event that I’ve read about but don’t recall ever experiencing. I do remember that when I was a kid in the 60’s we had milk delivered sometimes but it was the kind in a box with a spigot.
