The family tradition is that Bill Hindman was born in a dugout in 1910 in Taloga, Oklahoma and he lived in that area until he was in his twenties. Going through the family photo albums I noticed that his siblings lived in California, Oregon, Illinois and North Dakota and some of Bill’s biggest smiles in photos was when he was with his siblings. Though Bill didn’t wear a big smile when he posed with the big trucks he drove, he did seem to like to pose with them.
Bill was my biological grandfather on my father’s side.
No Story Too Small offered a challenge: have one blog post each week devoted to a specific ancestor. It could be a story, a biography, a photograph, an outline of a research problem — anything that focuses on one ancestor. Each of my posts for this challenge will include in the title “52 Ancestors Challenge” and will have the tag of 52Ancestors.
