Virginia would have been 100 years old today, March 30, 2014. She was my maternal grandmother and I miss her very much. The last photo I have of her was taken on her 93rd birthday in 2007 and is included in the ‘Through The Years” montage below.
My mother and I have written of her several times, here are a couple of those posts that tell parts of her story and share some of her legacy:
- A Tribute to My Mother — beautifully written by my Mom about her mother, my grandmother
- My Grammy — written by me
It’s great to have that many photos of her. When you spend as much time as we do with photos of the late 1800s and early 1900s when smiles were nearly non-existent, it’s also nice to see her wonderful smile and happy face (except for the goat cart one – and the two when she was about 15 when she must have been learning to smile again).
