Sarah Cox was born about 1813 in New Jersey and on March 17, 1831 she married James Hindman in Butler County, Ohio.

Their first few children were born in Ohio.  By 1836 they were in Indiana and 1840 & 1850 Sarah and James and their children were enumerated in Wayne, Montgomery, Indiana.  By 1856 they were living in Iowa and by 1880 they were in Saunders County, Nebraska.  They appear to have had at least 11 children born between 1832 and 1856 in Ohio, Indiana and  Iowa.

Sarah died at the age of 71 and is buried in Parmenter Cemetery in Ashland, Saunders, Nebraska.

Sarah was my biological 3rd great grandmother on my father’s side.

No Story Too Small offered a challenge: have one blog post each week devoted to a specific ancestor. It could be a story, a biography, a photograph, an outline of a research problem — anything that focuses on one ancestor.

Each of my posts for this challenge will include in the title “52 Ancestors Challenge” and will have the tag of 52Ancestors.
